Universal Orlando Resort is a theme park resort. The park is based in Orlando, Florida. It is a joint partnership of the Blackstone Group and NBC Universal. The resort consists of two theme parks - Universal's Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida, Universal CityWalk - a place for night-time entertainment, as well as three Loews hotels. The park is the largest property of the Universal Studios Theme Parks. It is also the second largest resort after the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.
Universal Studios Orlando was started with the original Universal Studios Florida in June of 1990. In 1999, Islands of Adventure, Universal CityWalk, On-site hotels, and two multi-level parking structures were added. |
